We have recently enjoyed two different mini-tarts – cranberry and pecan. The tartness of the cranberry (Tiny Tim Cranberry Tarts) versus the sweetness of the pecans (Pecan Tassies). Most seemed to prefer the cranberry version. I was quite happy with either.
Both used creme cheese and butter for the dough but the proportions were slightly different. The cranberry crust was friable whereas the pecan crust was firmer. Both are easy to make but filling the 24 mini muffin slots with the dough does take some time.
We had quite a bit of the pecan filling leftover so we added a few chocolate chips and spread on toast.
